It’s been a tough road but through self determination you never swayed and continued to work towards your goal all while supporting your raza! Only way to go from here is up! This Saturday join us at Aztlan Libre for our Tribute to the Chican@ Movement! We will be having vendors, speakers, poetry, performances, an archival display, and COMMUNIDAD! As we honor Chicano Park Day let us remember all of those who have paved the way for us to be able to call ourselves CHICANO! This was not given to us. We were not wanted in Mexico and we were not accepted here but we found our home in AZTLAN!

This effort began in 2012 at “The Spot” located on Main St. in Barrio Logan. The second flyer is the original flyer we used to come together and honor Chicana arte.

Tomorrow morning call Vivian Moreno and Todd Gloria and demand they restore Cesar Chavez Parkway and Cesar Chavez Park to their intended names Chicano Park Blvd and Chicano Park on the Bay! Email them now! We need to honor the work of the Chicano Park Steering Committee and the Chicano Community who fought for 17 years to regain bay access. The park would not be there without that struggle! Do not forget the history! We need to name it after a movement not another individual! Que Viva Gaby Alvarez! Que Viva Ronnie Trujillo! Que viva Tommie Camarillo! Que Viva Jose Gomez! Que Viva Guera! All the Way to the Bay!

Raza it’s that time of year again! This is our 5th Annual Easter Basket Distribution and Egg Hunt! Please help us by dropping off donations for the baskets and Easter eggs! This is as always only possible with the support of our Raza! This year we are hosting the distribution at Raza Park in Shelltown in collaboration with so we can continue to organize and mobilize the community! The distribution will be held April 4th at 11am!
