The historical Concord Schoolhouse is an authentically restored “learning-living” school museum located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. In 1848, local families of the surrounding area built this independent school to educate their children. Today, this school museum exemplifies early rural American education, while it offers visitors the feeling of being in an actual one-room school. In addi

Saint Vincent College Equestrian students engaged in wellness based experiences that encouraged nonverbal communication with their peers and equine partners. Concord Restores is a program initiative of the Concord One Room School nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nature- and equine-assisted therapeutic wellness experiences for youth. The programs are designed for youth groups and combine expressive arts, equine-assisted learning, and nature-based wellness activities to support personal growth, confidence, and connection.

Recently, our director, Dr. Veronica Ent, became a certified Cartier Farms & Dreamwinds Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitator. This research-informed program uses structured, hands-on experiences with horses to help youth develop character, communication, teamwork, and other important life skills through experiential learning.
