"Captured" - Dream Web- Reach Out Morongo Basin Auction

This is the first piece that I will donate to the auction. It is called "Captured" .This is a dream web that has been made by Harvesting the grapevines at the West Shores of the Salton Sea, hand wrapping them into the shape. Letting it dry for months.
Then I used hand polished h**p for for the web, each knot in the web is hand done, no machine is ever used in the production of my dream webs.
The blue and black beads are pressed glass; the Orange bead is a hand worked lamp bead. There are two feathers in this artwork; one an Amazon Parrot and the other a Peacock.
If you look closely you can see that the Amazon Parrot feather is "Captured" by the tendrils of the grape vine. This artwork measures 11 inches down by 15.5 inches across there is a twine hanger on it.
This was completed this morning.
I hope it will help bring you some much needed funds for your Organization.
Blessings,
Imari

The peacock is a very important bird, 1st it is an emblem of romantic love and beauty. In Buddhism the peacock supports the throne of Amitabha, the red Buddha of the west (main qualities include passion (lotus), love, vital fluids, evening twilight, summer and fire). The peacock is the mortal enemy of snakes, killing cobras with their talons. The main quality of the peacock is transmutation of poison into amrita or nectar. This is tied to Lord Shiva getting a blue throat from taking the poison produced by the churning of the ocean; thus the transmutation of poison or venom by the peacock is said to produce the electric blue of its throat plumage and the wisdom eyes of its tail feathers. In Vajra yana symbolism a bundle of peacock feathers is used as a sprinkler for the consecrated water or amrita contained in the blessing flask. In specific ta***ic rituals individual feathers are used as fan, mirror, and parasol adornments, also as the feathers for darts, and as the peacock feather parasol used by the goddess Palden Lhamo, symbolizing her wisdom activities and the transmutation of all evils or poisons.
