Member: Cowdrey, National Academy of Design; Albany Center for Design, 1846-60+; Appeared in December 1946 issue of Panorama magazine, p. 45. Listed in The New York Historical Society's Dictionary of Artists in America (1564-1860), by George C. Groce & David H. Wallace.

F***y Geefs (1807–1883) was a Belgian painter of Irish descent.
Born Isabelle Marie Françoise Corr in Brussels, she studied art as a child. In the 1830s she studied with François-Joseph Navez. As well as portraiture, she painted religious and historical scenes such as Our Lady appearing to the Oppressed which hangs in the Church of the Holy Family in Schaerbeek. She married successful sculptor Guillaume Geefs in 1836.

She worked on commissions for the Belgian royal family, including several portraits of Queen Louise-Marie. Her triptych The life of a woman: Pity - Love - Sorrow was an influence on Charlotte Brontë, in particular her autobiographical novel Villette, set in Brussels.

On her death in 1883 the Royal Library of Belgium purchased a large collection of her works.

Mary Hamilton was born in California in 1852. She was a resident of Stockton, CA between 1872-80. by 1880, she was a resident of Humboldt, CA. Exhibited at the California State Fair, 1872-75.

Unusual for the time, she was among that rare breed of female artists who dared to break into a world dominated by men. The boldness of her work is attest to her indomitable spirit. Even more remarkable is the fact that many of her paintings are of the Great American West, most areas of which was highly inaccessible in those days. She often painted in the Six Rivers National forest area.

Cyrus Bates Currier was born in Marietta, Ohio on December 13, 1868. He studied in Paris at Académie Julian and with Mucha, Bouguereau and Constant. He settled in Los Angeles about 1919 and lived there until his death September 27, 1946. He was the brother of artist Edward W. Currier.
