Get your tickets now to our Victorian-inspired Necklace Making Workshop happening on Sunday, September 27th from 2:00-3:30pm!

Create your very own lovely necklace in the Victorian museum. In this beginner-friendly 90-minute workshop, you’ll become familiar with the basics of jewelry making, learn proper stringing and finishing techniques, and complete a beautiful necklace to take home.

All materials are included, and jewelry-making tools are provided for use during class. No experience necessary!

A portion of all proceeds benefits the care, preservation, and programs of Deepwood.

Pre-registration is required to help us prepare for the event.

Cost for the Workshop is $65

Join us for a fascinating afternoon at our History & Artistry of Victorian Hairwork in 19th-Century America Talk on Saturday, October 24th from 3-4pm!

Come to this History Talk as historian and hairwork artist Diane Irby offers insight into the intricate and deeply sentimental art of transforming human hair into lasting keepsakes. This engaging presentation explores the history of Victorian hairwork and its significance within nineteenth-century American culture. The presentation examines the diverse techniques used to create hairwork, traces the rise and eventual decline of the practice, and highlights the important role it played in the lives of women during the Victorian era, offering opportunities for creative expression, artistic accomplishment, and personal agency within the social conventions of the nineteenth century.

Deepwood Members can use their membership cards to access free admission to a different attraction in the Pacific Northwest every month for themselves and up to three guests throughout 2026!

As with all of our monthly reciprocal attractions, Deepwood members must show their proof of membership along with photo ID to the gate attendants at the designated attraction to receive 4 admission tickets.

The benefit is valid for the whole month, and may be used as many times as you like at the featured attraction of the month. This benefit is solely for attraction admission during regular business hours. The membership benefit does not extend to discounts on classes, camps, store merchandise, or special events.

Happy Teacup Tuesday! This week we are sharing a lovely teacup stamped with Royal Patrician that features a morning glory chintz pattern. The company was founded in 1951 in Valencia, CA., by Herman Dodge. Dodge was an importer and arranged a pottery business in the Staffordshire area of England. The business later was later named Herman Dodge & Sons (hd&s), which imported the china to the US. The use of "Royal" in the name was by choice, not by having a royal warrant. The business closed in 2009.

From the backstamp, this set seems to date between 1970 and 1990. The cup is fluted and footed.

As the morning glory is one of September's flowers, we wanted to revisit this pretty cup!

This history talk will go into the dangers of dress in the 19th century and unveil a unique variety of pleasures and perils associated with fashion from head to toe.

Join us tomorrow (Sunday, August 30th) at 10am on Deepwood’s Front Lawn for yoga with instructor Catherine Albertini with Yoga Escape!

Breathe deeply, move mindfully, and enjoy the beauty of summer surrounded by nature.

All levels are welcome. Please bring your yoga mat, water bottle, and anything else you need to be comfortable outdoors.

If it rains, we will practice under the tent canopy.

Come connect with community, enjoy the gardens, and begin your Sunday intention! Light refreshments will be available.
