This weekend was SpencerFest at Ed and Steph's Spencer Station on 66, which is 1.6mi from Gary's Gay Parita. Both of these are preserved gas stations, but each is preserved using a different philosophy.
Spencer Station is being restored to a target date of the 1930s and 1940s with an effort I have only seen in museum ships. The road out front dates to 1926 without alterations.
Gay Parita preserves the feel and the dreams of the whole era up to and including the present day but primarily aims for pre 1960s artifacts. George is the son in law of Gary.
Both are necessary to get your kicks on 66 for one shows what was as it was and the other feels the feel.
