It just so happened I had been fooling around doing some test firings with my kiln to see glass compatibility. Some of the glass I was working with was old sea glass and scraps. I did not intend for one of the end results to be a cross. It just came out this way. So Cool Crosses was born. These crosses are made from scrap glass and sea glass from the ocean. Pieces that would normally be considered
unusable or trash I have taken and slumped them in a kiln in the shape of a cross. The pieces fuse into each other under extreme heat and once cooled I drill the hole and fasten the silver bail and there you go. A really cool cross! What a transformation! This is just like us with our walk with Christ. We are ever evolving. We are constantly on a journey, we don’t know what the plan is for us but if we put our trust and faith in God, we can be transformed. We are all beautiful works of art by the Master Artist. Cool Crosses is my way of giving back. I have been blessed beyond measure with a gift of creativity. I am an artist. I see things differently, I use my hands and my eyes and my soul when I create. God gave these gifts to me and I need to give back. So, here it is, Cool Crosses. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have loved making them.
