Important Notice: Temporary Water Service Interruption 4/30/2026

We would like to inform all visitors that at this time, the Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History Center does not have water available throughout the facility.

The building remains open to the public during our regular operating hours.

Our nearest restrooms and water fountains are near the Fishing Pier, a ~0.5 mile walk/drive from the Center. There is limited parking near the Pier and parking in the grass is prohibited. Please reference the map in the second image for more information.

A friendly reminder to stay on the trails👀🐍

This Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake was spotted right outside of the History Center! They're the largest rattlesnake in the United States by length and weight, and are a pretty common sight here at Weedon Island. These venomous reptiles alongside other snakes in Florida help to keep our ecosystems balanced and healthy🌿

Stay alert, respect their space, and admire from afar if you do see one!
