Lowertown ART SHOW

Lowertown ART SHOW The Lowertown Art Show is a celebration of the rich and diverse talents of those artists that help to create an artistic environment in downtown Saint Paul

As a member of the AZ gallery we are all asked to create at least one art exhibit every two years. In 2011 I proposed a show that would display the artwork of downtown Saint Paul artists, in other words, our neighbors. The members of AZ were unanimously in favor of the idea, so much so, that they waived the members rental fee, and the rear members gallery space to this project. The qualifications

for an artist to participate are to live, work, have studio space or to display their work on a regular basis in downtown Saint Paul. Each year the Lowertown Art Show displays the work of over 60 artists. In the second annual show we started featuring a few artists whose accomplishments have made them standout. Artists enter one piece in the show, with featured artists receiving a full wall to display as much of their work as they would like. The show is judged (judges change each year ), and modest awards are given out, that are supplied by local businesses and individuals that support this show. The show typically runs from the third weekend in October through the Sunday before Thanksgiving. An opening reception and awards night is held on the first Saturday of the show, from 6-10 P.M.
