For Rossman, with so much love...may you truly rest in peace, my brother. You were a force of nature, and a true lover... You were such a central part of all that the home was/is. You made me smile and laugh... And. Anyone that can do that will ultimately have my heart.. You were truly one of a kind and you will be so deeply missed. There are no words for how deep this loss cuts Auntie and the kids. They just miss you. Everybody's missing you, brother. I hope you've pulled up a stool next to JC and are having a stiff drink... With no more pain... No more suffering. Free from the chains of this world. Free from all that held you here. You were so loved, Rossman. RIP Xerxes Seales...

What they don't seem to understand is taking these people from us will only make our lives less soulful and less rich with love... And culture... And, so many other things. What they also don't seem to understand is that Minnesotan's aren't going anywhere. We will stay with this fight. In days of late, I've been VERY impacted by the Trans community. I've met several people of importance in my life that are going thru this brave journey... And, I've been so touched and inspired by their courage, honesty, grit, and love. I CANNOT IMAGINE all that they endure or how it feels to go thru it. But, I feel deeply for them and wish I could understand better. This is my attempt...TO STAND WITH THEM.

"STEEL MAGNOLIAS"

Try as I might, I'm not going to be able to write something more profound than the title..."Steel Magnolias"...Strong, Indestructible Flowers. They don't go together... there's a huge dichotomy...the magnificent strength and beautiful fragility. Yet...WOMEN... make it so. I hope i captured the beauty and strength of these women... that was my true goal. Because women are truly so beautiful.

I absolutely love the courage and honesty that some people approach life with. It takes great courage to look yourself in the mirror and say, "This is who I REALLY am."...aside from all the bu****it... this is me! I know this from personal experience. You have to run away from all of the noise and find yourself. My friend, PJ has done just that. Stripped everything away to find their real voice and who they REALLY are... and, they are stunning and absolutely fabulous. I wanted to give them a real shout out. This painting was so fun to do because i was painting someone who i care about deeply and a cause i am deeply behind! Love to you,
