Join internationally recognized photographer and In Progress artist Xavier Tavera (https://in-progress.org/tavera-xavier-staff) for an evening of images, conversation, and critical reflection. Tavera will share a selection of his photographic work alongside firsthand perspectives on documenting the Mexico–U.S. border, as well as Latinx immigrant and veteran communities.

This artist talk explores the intersection of activism, the role of the visual historian, and the evolving art of photography.

A light dinner will be served. This event is free and open to the public.

Big congratulations to Azomali Obisakin as her film Too Much was just accepted into the BLUE YOUTH - Curated International Film Festival. Her film will screen this spring in the country of Romania. The PRO Registration workshop series introduces musicians to the fundamentals of Public Rights Organizations (PROs), including how to register works, maximize royalties, and properly split rights between artists and publishers. Led by leading music professionals Cassie Opia (https://in-progress.org/mcduffie-cassie-staff) and Jack Ger Vang (https://in-progress.org/vang-jack-staff) , participants will gain both foundational knowledge and hands-on experience to better manage their rights and income streams.

Participants will learn:

-- What Public Rights Organizations (PROs) are and how they function
-- The role of PROs in collecting and distributing performance royalties
-- How to choose and join a PRO that aligns with their needs
-- Step-by-step registration of songs and compositions
-- Common mistakes in registration and how to avoid them
-- Strategies for maximizing royalty collection across platforms and performances
-- The difference between writer and publisher shares
-- How to properly split royalties among collaborators
-- Best practices for documenting and communicating rights splits in creative
projects
-- Each session builds on the last, combining clear instruction with practical
application to ensure participants leave with tools they can immediately use.

Sound Healing for All is designed to introduce participants to singing bowls, chimes, and other instruments, exploring how sound vibration and frequency can support health and well-being. Participants will practice instruments, record and share their creations, and engage in reflection on their personal healing processes. The session is led by In Progress artists Yeeleng Vue (https://in-progress.org/vue-yeeleng-staff) & Laurette Sebastienne (https://in-progress.org/sebastienne-laurette-staff) . Together they have offered these powerful grounding sessions for our In Progress community since 2023.
