🏛️ Movie Magic

The filmmakers couldn't film some scenes at the real Independence Hall, so they used a brick-for-brick replica in California instead.

Located across the street from Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, Independence Hall is a meticulously built, brick-by-brick replica of the Philadelphia original. Opened by Walter Knott on July 4, 1966.

After National Treasure was released, visitors to the National Archives started asking if there was actually a secret treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence!

The answer❓

There is no treasure map, but it does say "Original Declaration of Independence dated July 4th, 1776" upside down along the bottom.
A clue?? 🔍 Or maybe just an archive lable.

AMENDMENT XIII

Section 1.
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.

Section 2.
Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.

Passed by Congress January 31, 1865. Ratified December 6, 1865.
