NEW WORK AT THE BEALL GALLERY

This weekend, The Beall Gallery in St. Michaels is debuting new work by painter Tim Beall and sculptor Jeffrey Mathias.

Tim’s latest plein air paintings continue his exploration of the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland’s Eastern Shore—working waterfronts, boats, docks, and the changing light of the places he has known throughout his life.

Alongside them, Jeffrey will introduce new large-scale porcelain sculptures from his ongoing study of the Eastern Oyster, inspired by the ecology, maritime traditions, and working waters of the Chesapeake and beyond.

Paint and porcelain. Water, light, texture, and tide. Two distinct bodies of work connected by a shared relationship with the Chesapeake.

"Tuck Sterns," by Tim Beall.

This piece was started during the Paint Tilghman portion of Plein Air Easton.
Tim wasn't able to complete it that day, so it ended up as one of his competition paintings for the collectors' party.

This piece sold before it ever made it to the gallery. ✨

Today kicks off Plein Air Easton, one of the largest and most prestigious outdoor painting festivals in the country.

Our own Tim is taking part! 🎨

Artists from across the country will paint live, right on location.
They'll capture the beauty of Talbot County, MD as it happens.
