This is a recently completed print on a theme explored previously.
"The Dance" by Matisse, seen on the wall, is a tangible expression of energy and joy in movement. I love the contrast with the gestures of people enjoying a more leisurely companionship.

This is a reduction print.
The white areas are carved out of the block and the lightest colors are painted on. This is printed and these areas are then carved out. A darker area is then painted on and printed. This shape is then carved away. It is a long process.
