Exterior work continues on the Kemper House...

The Kemper House, constructed in 1885 for Charles S. Kemper, is located in the Museum Hill National Register/Local Landmark Historic District. It has been vacant for several years as the owners have worked to stabilize and secure it. They are now ready to finish the restoration and move in. They have hired Kress & Sons to complete the job.

The Kemper House had been badly damaged by a fire which destroyed the neighboring house several years ago. Before we began on this project, the owners had a new roof installed, new mechanicals installed, and prepared the interior for repairing and finishing.

Now begins the final finishing of the house, which will mainly focus on the interior of the house, but does include the repairing of the porches and a few other exterior elements. This photo album will document the work Kress & Sons perform.
