These views of the dress depict a squirrel from our oaks, Socks the farm cat, a winter calf, a hare in the grass, and a frog from the pond. A tiny portrait of life here at home.

I have left out my dogs. They need a dress all to themselves.

The horse pictured reminds me of Ginger. A horse my sister and I had when we were kids. We rode ba****ck, shoeless, double, triple, and quadruple with the neighbor kids. Ginger liked to race to the barn and we had to bail off a few times before she got there. She was so patient with us.

Hand built, pulled handles, slip trailed, bisque, stained, glazed, fired cone 5 oxidation.

You won't have to dead head this Mexican Sunflower and it will always be in bloom.

Have you ever grown them? They grow like crazy. The orange color is amazing and they bloom a long time. They need lots of room by end of season.

WORKSHOP UPDATE — Spots May Still Be Open

I’m happy to share that the Columbus, Ohio workshop at the Priscilla R. Tyson Cultural Arts Center is officially back on the schedule for July 6–10, 2026.

Last year’s session had to be canceled due to my broken wrist, but I’m fully healed and excited to return. If you’ve been hoping for another chance to join this workshop, this is it. A few spots may still be available, and we’d love to welcome you into this creative week of making, learning, and connecting.

I was delighted to hear from my friend Darlene Behnke, who shared photos from league competition held at Pittsburgh HS . Their prompt was Art Nouveau inspired by my work, and the students had only three hours to bring their ideas to life.
Teams from Pittsburgh HS, Parsons, Independence, Labette County, and Fort Scott all took on the challenge. It sounds like a joyful, creative whirlwind of a day.

A quick trip to the Birger Sandzén Memorial Gallery today to deliver Women in Blue Habitat for Go Figure. We couldn’t resist spending time with a few of my favorite Sandzén works while we were there.
Go Figure opens May 3 and runs through July 19, curated by Michael Florian Jilg.
