Here’s a 1941 newspaper clipping talking about the H.M. Smith Department Store in Rushford and some of its history. This building was located where El Barco Mexican Restaurant is today in town and where Stumpy’s was once located. It was taken down in 1983.

The day Minnesota Governor Al Quie visited Rushford’s Ernie Tuff and many crowd goers at his Museum located in between Rushford and Winona next to Interstate 90. This was in the Summer of 1979.
