So we are convening a Phil the Void memorial toast to the Orphic Gallery and 8-Track Museum impresario.

we will toast Phil on the anniversary of his leaving us.

Please pass this message along and spread the word. This is a last minute impromptu event!

We don't have Phil's Contact List so please help us tell all who might want to know.

Due to the unexpected passing of our owner, Phil Lenihan, the Orphic Gallery will be closed until further notice. I'm sure I speak for all of the people associated with the gallery when I say our thoughts and prayers are with the Lenihan family during this very difficult time. Phil, just like the many music formats we've preserved, you will not be easily forgotten.

Thanks Greg. You know that Donna will not be melting in the dark in Tony's Dancefloor. We have an amazing array of Greg Frederick's Vinyl Pop Art here at the gallery.

On a summer’s day after sixth grade, my sister Chelle Henderson Greene and I walked down the street to Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City and bought her a metallic polyester wrap-around skirt with matching metallic Candies shoes. We had worked all week on a disco dance routine choreographed to the entire long-play version of Donna Summer singing MacArthur Park. We walked back to the house and filmed the whole routine on a super 8 camera and did the requisite recitals for our siblings and parents. One of the all-time best memories of my childhood. Fast forward several ice ages later, and a brilliant artist named Greg Frederick is brought to Roxbury’s Orphic Gallery by local bon vivant Phil Lenihan. Greg’s unique artistic vision encompasses many forms, but his specialty is making wall art out of old vinyl records. First he sketches the image of the artist FREEHAND, then uses the real vinyl from the artist’s own album to create his amazing works of art. He stayed with us at The Roxbury and when he asked us if there was a room where we might like one of his works, I immediately thought of a blank wall that needed “something” in Tony’s Dancefloor – our disco room. And there was only one artist it could be – the late great Donna Summer. You nailed it, Greg, thank you so much. I am so excited by this piece that I don’t think that I can take it. Cause it took so long to bake it. And I’ll never have that recipe again. (This one’s for you, Chelle…).
