From board member and Treasurer "Finished another enamel and silver brooch. Sometimes the enamel morphs into something unexpected as you work. This began as a more simple sgraffito piece. I could have stopped early on but after adding the first couple of layers of painting enamels it started to become something a bit more elaborate and I decided to keep going with it…then of course it also called for a more complicated, leafy setting than originally planned. That is one thing that I love, the occasional surprises that emerge, as if the materials and the processes take on a little life of their own."

This is why we love this material. We can't wait to see what our members create for our upcoming sgraffito show!

Hey folks- be aware of a scam using Pat Nelson's name and asking for gift cards for the Enamelist Society. We would never ask that of members. If you ever have any questions about any correspondence said to be representing TES, please call us at the office.

It is the last day of New York Jewelry Week and of our “Insectum Electrum” bug inspired jewelry exhibit at Steuben Gallery, Pratt Institute. What an incredible week it has been and so wonderful to have had such an enthusiastic response to our show of our members’ work. Here are five more inspiring enamel pieces to view, though of course photos never do the actual work justice.
