Another piece of Roswell’s story is SAVED.

Chimayo Rainbow, a vibrant 1990 weaving by sixth-generation Chimayo weaver Jacobo O. Trujillo, has been fully sponsored for conservation!

Commissioned by the Roswell Museum in 1990, this remarkable textile represents generations of New Mexico weaving traditions and craftsmanship.

After the flood left the wool weaving with silt and surface soil, its path toward conservation is now fully funded.

Thanks to a generous sponsor, Chimayo Rainbow will be conserved and preserved for generations to come.

One more piece of New Mexico’s artistic heritage on its way back home.

Because some things are worth keeping forever.

Another piece of Western history is SAVED.

The Roswell Museum’s Model 1874 R***e has been fully sponsored for conservation!

Closely associated with the American West, the Sharps r***e became known for its accuracy and reliability. This example, made by C. Sharps Arms Co., entered the Museum as part of the Rogers and Mary Ellen Aston collection.

When floodwaters entered the Museum, the r***e suffered corrosion and pitting, along with significant damage to its wooden stock.

Thanks to a generous sponsor, the conservation of this historic r***e is now fully funded.

One more piece of our region’s history on its way toward preservation for future generations.

Because some things are worth keeping forever.

SAVED.

Peter Hurd’s Self-Portrait has been fully sponsored for conservation.

Born in Roswell in 1904, Hurd became one of New Mexico’s most celebrated artists. This 1956 self-portrait was commissioned especially for the Roswell Museum and has been part of the collection for nearly 70 years.

After the flood left the painting with mud, staining, and areas of fragile, flaking paint, it now has a path forward. The full $11,928 needed for its conservation has been sponsored.

Thank you to the generous sponsor helping ensure this piece of Roswell’s story can return home—and remain here for generations to come.

Because some things are worth keeping forever.

It's on many people's Bucket List. Have you been?
From a small gathering of 13 balloons in 1972, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta has grown to become the largest balloon event in the world. Held each year during the first week in October, the Balloon Fiesta now features about 600 balloons and 700 pilots.
