The Widow Jane Mine is open for individuals and small family groups, masked and with six feet of social distancing. In the mine and on the trails, please leave room and wait for others to e

nter and exit. If overcrowding, vandalism, or unhealthy behaviours are observed, the site will be closed. Suggested Donations to the Century House Historical Society are:

Family: $10

Directions:

Less than two hours from New York City, Rosendale is midway between New Paltz and Kingston, Exits 18 and 19 of the NYS Thruway (I-87). From Exit 18 (New Paltz) take NY 32 north to Rosendale. From Exit 19 (Kingston) take NY 209 south to Stone Ridge, then NY 213 east to Rosendale. The Snyder Estate is at 688 Route 213 on the north side of Route 213, a mile west of the village.

It's time to clean out the winter debris and help set up the Snyder Estate for the season. Come on down to the Estate April 27th, for a bunch of projects that need many hands. If you have gardening equipment and gloves that you like, please bring them. Lunch will be served between the carriage barns for you hungry workers!

A collective expression of love, gratitude, and remembrance honoring our departed loved ones on the Day of the Dead and All Souls’ Day. Join us for sacred silence followed by music and dancing (with tamales and treats by Sabor De Mi Pueblo with Tilda's Kitchen). This event is a fundraiser for the non-profit organizations Circle Creative Collective & The Century House Historical Society.

TOMORROW SATURDAY July 27th Taiko drumming in the Widow Jane Mine. Tickets are $25 here https://www.centuryhouse.org/events-2024/ Roaring thunder on the lake in the mine. If you have seen this spectacle, you will never miss it again. If you haven’t, your life will be forever changed. 2:00 gates open - come early to picnic and get the best parking spots. The Widow Jane Mine at the A.J. Snyder Estate is closed until further notice. Donations are needed to fund the necessary improvements to reopen the site. If you would like to see the Widow Jane Mine reopen this summer, please visit our gofundme page here https://www.centuryhouse.org/chhs-campaign-2019/

If we raise enough money to cover the needed fencing and compliant signage, the Widow Jane Mine may reopen later this summer.
