Edwin Johnston and another were doing some target shooting with their bow & arrows. Edwin was a game warden in Roseau County, succeeding Axel Nelson in July 1939.
Notice the feathered fletching on the arrows. Does anyone still use a long bow for hunting?

A Glimpse into Harvesting Years Ago!

This photograph shows a threshing crew with a steam tractor, threshing machine, wagon, hay wagon, and cook shack. We don't know when or where this photo was taken, but it certainly captures a piece of our farming history!

Have you gone through your old family photo albums lately? We're looking for historical photographs of farmsteads, schools, businesses, community celebrations, family gatherings, and everyday life in Roseau County.

We're selecting one historical photograph for each month of our 2027 Centennial Calendar, celebrating 100 years of the Roseau County Historical Society!

Submit your photographs by October 23 for consideration for the calendar.
