Today is the FIRST DAY of the Peach Festival "Hometown" Parade, so let's look at one more Peach Queen.

It's Emilee Wichtner - the 2016 Peach Queen, who believed in building children's self-esteem and has her own connection to the pageant.

Earlier this week, our archivist Emily Malek spoke to TheMitttv.com about the Romeo Peach Festival "Hometown" Parade Oral History project she is conducting.

Come and share your story about the Peach Festival at the Romeo Community Center on 361 Morton Street on Friday, September 4 and Saturday, September 5 from 10am to 5pm! It doesn't matter if you're 8 or 98, we want to hear them all!

Hi Everybody,

The second video in our "Schools of Prospect Street" series is up now! It provides a detailed history of the Dickinson Institute - a private school that ran from 1855 to 1867. It was the first school established on the space by Prospect Street and was named after merchant and landowner Nathan Dickinson.
