We're down to the last week of Summer Reading. So far we've had over 1,200 people participate in this year's Summer Reading program and our youth readers read over 275, 000 minutes while our adult readers have read over 2, 250 books!
Our Summer Reading programs end this Saturday, July 27, so make sure to stop in to redeem your prizes!

Our friends over at the Rocky River Public Library Foundation are gearing up for their 2nd annual Art Show & Cocktail Party: Art in the Archives!
Artist Recruitment
The Rocky River Public Library Foundation is now accepting artist applications for our 2nd annual Art Show & Cocktail Party: Art in the Archives. It will be held on Friday, September 27th from 6:30 - 9 PM. We are seeking Ohio fine artists who are actively creating paintings, drawings, illustrations, and digital art. We will be accepting 22 artists to sell their art at this year’s event. Accepted artists will be required to make a $75 entry fee, which will be donated to the RRPL Foundation to support the revitalization of the Early Childhood area, including replacement of a very well loved train table.

One of our favorite ways to celebrate the dog days of summer is by having a dog-themed scavenger hunt. In years past we've used photos of dogs swimming underwater and dogs licking peanut butter off their snouts. This summer our canine friends have a case of the zoomies!
For those new to our scavenger hunts, they are located on the 2nd Floor in the Children's Department and change on a biweekly-ish basis.
Join us tomorrow night on the Library Lawn for a performance by The Wallace Coleman 4 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Food will be available for purchase from Thai It Up Food Truck.

Did you know that RRPL has a a variety of video games to checkout for Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox gaming systems?
The time has come for a new Storybook Walk title outside. The newest one is, "Bark Park", by Trudy Krisher, and it follows how many dogs enjoy their day going to the dog park.
Enjoying our Storybook Walk titles? We change the Storybook Walk books about twice a month to present more quality books for the community to enjoy.
It's ! Today we're highlighting one of collections in the Children's Department, specifically our Launchpad collection. These tablets are divided by age group and content areas and come with a variety of pre-loaded educational apps and games that can help with math, learning a new language, reading, writing, and more!

We had over 50 completed Citywide Scavenger Hunts June! Participants found Roc E. Rover hidden around town. Thank you to Heinen's, River Plant Co., Wild Flour Bakery, Rocky River Recreation Center, Erie Island Coffee Company and Pelicano's Pizza for being scavenger hunt stops this summer!

Patrons recently learned about the basics of screen printing in our latest Art + You Workshop. Instructors from ArtHouse guided us in creating out of this world designs on notebooks and t-shirts.
Have you seen the newest Cowan Pottery Museum exhibit? We celebrated the opening of Let There Be Light with refreshments and live jazz performed by Hip to That. Stop by to see the exhibit anytime we're open!
