Come cool off with us this weekend! Don't miss out on viewing our current exhibits at the Imperial Centre for the Arts and Sciences! The Children's Museum has a wonderful traveling exhibit, "Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites". This exhibit brings some of your favorite childhood favorite books to life through an interactive exhibit!
The Maria V Howard has the People's Choice Art Show: Featuring Tri-County Artists from Edgecombe, Nash, and Wilson Counties. Come see our winners from the show and shop for your favorite affordable work of art!
And you can still see our Kids' Day Art Contest Exhibit: Featuring young artists, ages Pre-K through 12th grade!
These three exhibits will run until September 6th so make a trip today to see these amazing exhibits!
Our exhibit hours are Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am-5 pm and Sunday, 1 pm-5 pm.

Before It Was… the Imperial Centre

Today, the Imperial Centre is known for art, theatre, science and community — but its story started very differently.

The property dates back to 1903, when the Imperial To***co Company established its Rocky Mount plant. More than a century later, pieces of that industrial past are still part of the Imperial Centre you see today.

So how did a to***co processing complex become one of downtown Rocky Mount’s cultural destinations?

Actors Wanted for Upcoming Stage Production

We are seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals interested in auditioning for roles in the upcoming production of A Raisin in the Sun.

🎬 ROLES AVAILABLE

ASAGAI
Male – A Nigerian student who is intelligent, proud of his African heritage, confident, and idealistic.
TRAVIS YOUNGER
Young Boy – Approximately 11–13 years old. Energetic, curious, and an important part of the Younger family.
GEORGE MURCHISON
Young Black Male – Polished, educated, confident, and takes great pride in himself and his social status.
BOBO
Male – A working-class friend and business associate of Walter Lee. The actor should be able to portray a character who is somewhat naïve, nervous, and overwhelmed when faced with a difficult situation.

Don't forget to come out and vote for your favorite work of art from our first People's Choice Art Show! We are accepting votes through August 1st and winners will be announced August 7th! Come out and support our local artists from Edgecombe, Nash, and Wilson Counties! The current exhibit features 120 works of art! You can also purchase many of the pieces from the show directly through the artists or reach out to the artists for commissions!
