We are so sorry to announce that the Maine Maple Sunday event scheduled for tomorrow, March 22nd, at the Camden-Rockport Historical Society is officially cancelled due to the expected weather.

While we were looking forward to a day of syrup, blacksmithing, and music, the safety of our volunteers and guests comes first. We appreciate your understanding and hope you stay warm and safe!

We are one week away from Maine Maple Sunday!

🍁 Sweet Traditions & Iron Sparks: Maine Maple Sunday at CRHS! 🍁

Looking for the perfect way to celebrate a classic Maine spring? Join us at the Camden-Rockport Historical Society for a full afternoon of history, music, and—of course—maple syrup!

The Details:
📅 When: Sunday, March 22nd
🕛 Time: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
📍 Where: CRHS Campus (next to Hannaford across the street from Maritime Farms on the Camden/Rockport town line).

What’s Happening:
* At the Sugar Shack: Stop by and say hello to Keryn Annis, who will be tending the fire and sharing the magic of how sap becomes that "liquid gold" we all love.

* Open House: We are opening the doors to the Museum, the Historic Homestead, and the Barn. It’s a great chance to explore our collections and step back in time.

* Blacksmithing Demo: Step into the shop to witness the heat and craft of Travis French. Travis is a skilled farrier and will be demonstrating the traditional art of making horseshoes.

* Live Music: Enjoy the local sounds of Greg Dorr and friends, providing the perfect soundtrack for your visit.

* Local History: We will have books for sale by the late, beloved local historian Barbara Dyer. Take home a piece of Camden-Rockport's rich heritage!

Whether you're here for the syrup, the craftsmanship, or the community, there is something for everyone. We can’t wait to see you there!

We are so grateful to Dominic Fontaine of Cliff Side Tree service for making quick work of two hazard trees on our campus last week. We’ve been so fortunate to have some amazing professionals donate their services and products! We will highlight a few others over the next couple weeks.

Dominic specializes in tree preservation which makes him the go-to choice for anyone looking to save a special tree. He is incredibly knowledgeable and will happily share and educate. We love preserving historic buildings as well as trees, but these two were totally dead and had the potential to hurt a person or one of our buildings if not handled properly. Dominic specializes in handling hazard trees safely with all the necessary care to work gently around special properties like this one.

We highly recommend giving him a call for your preservation or hazard mitigation project!
