The Painted Room by Lois Dodd is back from a trip to the Netherlands!

The Farnsworth lent The Painted Room to the Kunstmuseum Den Haag in the Netherlands for their Lois Dodd: Framing the Ephemeral exhibition. It marked the very first European retrospective dedicated to the post-war American painter, who is celebrated for her intimate, observational style.

Come see The Painted Room now back on view in our Maine: A Force within American Art (1890-2026) exhibition.

Step inside the world of Betsy James Wyeth through a collection of objects inspired by the aesthetic she helped shape — now available at the Farnsworth 365 Store alongside the newly released By Design: The Worlds of Betsy James Wyeth.

From weathered straw hats reminiscent of those seen in Andrew Wyeth paintings, to folk-inspired pig sculptures, handcrafted decorative objects, rustic textures, and timeless New England forms, these pieces evoke the quiet poetry and deeply personal environments Betsy cultivated throughout Maine.

By Design: The Worlds of Betsy James Wyeth offers the first in-depth look at Betsy Wyeth as a designer of spaces, preservationist, collector, and creative force whose vision shaped not only the world around Andrew Wyeth, but American art itself.

The book is a beautiful companion to the objects, interiors, and landscapes that continue to inspire generations.

Available now at the Farnsworth 365 Store.
