Celebrating a Living Legend: The Phenomenal Marilyn McCoo!
Let's show some major love to the incredible Marilyn McCoo, born September 30, 1943! 🔥 She is a true icon in music, acting, and television.

Most famously, she was the lead female vocalist in the legendary group The 5th Dimension, gracing us with that incredible four-octave vocal range!

In 1975, she and her husband, the equally talented Billy Davis Jr. (also from The 5th Dimension), ventured out as a duo. They quickly hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with their smash hit, "You Don't Have to Be a Star (To Be in My Show)," earning them a gold single, a gold album, and a Grammy!

Marilyn McCoo also brought her grace and charm to our screens as the host of the 1980s music countdown series Solid Gold.

Her voice, her style, and her enduring partnership with Billy Davis Jr. continue to inspire. She is pure Black excellence in music!

Black Excellence in Classical Music: JSU's Josiah Osula is Shining!
Huge CONGRATS to Josiah Osula, a phenomenal sophomore at Jackson State University! 🔥 This accomplished violinist is making major waves in classical music, earning two significant honors:

He was awarded the $1,500 Black Violin Foundation, Inc. James Miles Musical Innovation Grant Award!

He also won the prestigious statewide Music Teachers National Association competition!

Josiah is a true powerhouse, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering with a minor in violin performance. He plans to use his grant to attend summer musical programs and further develop his artistry.

This young king is a brilliant example of dedication, talent, and the diverse excellence fostered at HBCUs. We love to see him thriving!

This is truly a heartwarming story of faith and perseverance! 🔥

After 13 years of trying, 50-year-old Susie Troxler and her husband welcomed their miracle baby, Lily, through IVF!

With the help of Dr. Carolyn Harraway-Smith and their unwavering faith, their very last embryo brought their dream of parenthood to life.

As Susie powerfully advises, “Don’t let age end your dream.” This incredible journey reminds us that hope, dedication, and belief can make anything possible, no matter the odds.
