At Texas Children's Museum, we have always believed that children learn best when they are actively engaged with the world around them. While technology certainly has its place, our philosophy is to provide hands-on experiences that encourage children to use their own creativity, imagination, and problem-solving skills.

For that reason, we intentionally limit electronics throughout the Museum. We want children to build, create, explore, experiment, and discover using their minds, hands, and bodies. Research continues to show the importance of developing critical thinking skills, social interaction, fine motor skills, and creative problem-solving during the early years of childhood.

One exciting example of this philosophy is our upcoming PoolSoccer area. PoolSoccer combines the strategy of pool with the movement and coordination of soccer. Children must think ahead, plan their shots, judge angles, work through challenges, and develop dexterity and coordination. It encourages both physical activity and critical thinking without relying on screens or electronic devices.

At Texas Children's Museum, our goal is simple: to help children build a strong foundation for learning by giving them opportunities to think for themselves, solve problems, and engage in meaningful play. We believe these experiences help create confident, capable young learners who are prepared for whatever challenges the future may bring.

Sometimes the best learning happens when a child simply has the opportunity to explore, imagine, and figure things out on their own.
