Texas Children's Museum

Texas Children's Museum Texas Children's Museum is a hands-on Children's Museum devoted to helping children of all ages learn through interactive play.

We are a federally recognized 501c3 non-profit started in February 2014. A hands-on interactive place for children (and their parents and grandparents) to spend the day. We have a huge sand box, an arts and craft room, a water table, a music room, a vet's office, a construction room...and more to come. Designed to accommodate a variety of ages and interests, no one gets bored here.

In Loving Memory of Dolly Parton

January 19, 1946 – August 25, 2026

Today, our hearts at Texas Children’s Museum join millions around the world in mourning the passing of the beautiful and beloved Dolly Parton.

While we are saddened by her passing, we find comfort in believing that Dolly has been welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.

Dolly gave this world so much more than her extraordinary music. She gave hope, laughter, kindness, generosity, and love. Her heart for children was especially remarkable. Through her Imagination Library, she placed books into the hands of millions of children and helped inspire generations to dream, learn, and believe in themselves.

As a children’s museum, that part of Dolly’s legacy touches our hearts deeply. She understood that investing in a child can change a life—and that one act of kindness can reach farther than we may ever know.

To Dolly’s family, friends, and the countless fans who loved her, please know that Texas Children’s Museum in Rio Vista, Texas, is praying for you during this time of tremendous loss.

Dolly may have left this earth, but the love she gave, the children she encouraged, the lives she touched, and the songs she shared will continue for generations.

Rest peacefully, Dolly. Your work here is finished. May you rejoice in the presence of Jesus.
