⛏️ Calling all junior explorers and history-hunting families! Try your hand at archaeology during See Passaic County Week with Can You Dig It?, a hands-on simulated excavation at the Passaic County Archaeology Center. Learn how archaeologists use tools and techniques in the field before searching for hidden artifacts. Dig, document, sift, and screen your discoveries, then head into the workshop to inspect and analyze your finds. 📅 Saturday, September 19 ⏰ Sessions from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and 2:00–4:00 PM 📍 Passaic County Archaeology Center. The program will be held rain or shine, with excavations taking place outside on the patio or moving indoors if needed. Space is limited, and registration is required.

🏺 The Passaic County Archaeology Center is now open!

Passaic County recently celebrated the grand opening of the Passaic County Archaeology Center at the historic Harry S. Vreeland Homestead in Ringwood following a $1.3 million restoration project.

Visitors can explore Passaic County's rich archaeological heritage through exhibits, hands-on educational programming, and public events designed to bring history to life. The center offers a unique opportunity to discover how communities developed, how industries shaped the region, and how people lived, worked, and adapted over time.

We look forward to sharing Passaic County's archaeological heritage with the community and making history with you.
