May is almost over, but we couldn't let Preservation Month slide by without saying something!

At Explorers Studio, so much of our exhibit and signage work lives inside historic structures where the walls themselves are part of the story. That means designing with intention, care, and respect for the historic fabric.

We're grateful to collaborate with some amazing preservation-focused organizations— Preservation Virginia, Historic Richmond, Wilton House Museum, Virginia Museum of History & Culture's Virginia House.

Shoutout to everyone out there keeping history alive and accessible!

This Black History Month, we’re honoring the power of exhibitions to surface stories that were too often overlooked or intentionally erased. Explorers Studio's exhibit work is rooted in collaboration, research, and deep respect for the communities whose histories we help bring to light—from enslaved and marginalized communities, to artists, innovators, and culture-shapers whose narratives deserve center stage.

These projects remind us that history is not fixed—it’s uncovered, expanded, and made richer when more voices are heard. We’re proud to partner with museums and cultural institutions to help tell these vital stories—this month and always.
