A "behind the scenes" tour allows visitors to explore the museum's hidden areas and unseen collections.

We are so excited to offer our guests the unique experience of listening to Ohlone Voices speak the Chochenyo language. Learn about the ancient language spoken in the East Bay in new interactive made possible by the California Humanities Council.

We honor Richmond son Sgt. John Cisneros Cortez (1923-1944) this Memorial Day. He drowned in the English Channel in World War II when his plane was hit but took steps to ensure his air crew survived. Sgt. Cortez was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry.
His family continues to live and work in Richmond, California.
