Welcome to our NEW ARTIST SPOTLIGHT SERIES! Today, we’re featuring artist MONTE ELMORE, whose woodworking has been a lifelong passion, evolving through more than 50 years of exploration and practice.

His early work included furniture, toys, and other functional objects. More recently, his creative focus has shifted toward woodturning, where he finds a balance of precision, spontaneity, and discovery. Much of his work centers on utilitarian forms—bowls, platters, and vases—designed to be used as well as appreciated. In each piece, he strives to let the natural color, grain, and character of the wood speak for themselves. Select works are further embellished with techniques such as wood burning, piercing, and inlay, adding visual depth and unique character to each piece.

You can enjoy and purchase Monte’s work at our gallery and discover the beauty of craftsmanship, creativity, and the natural character of wood!

Designed for ages 11–15, this fun, hands-on workshop introduces young artists to watercolor, collage, and fine line illustration as they create one-of-a-kind bookmarks and gift tags. No experience is needed, and all materials are provided.
