Join us for the inaugural Story Lodge Indigenous Literary & Book Fair!
Saturday, August 1, 2026 | 11:00 AM–5:00 PM
Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center
788 East 7th Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106
Meet Indigenous authors, illustrators, artists, activists, publishers, educators, and storytellers from across Turtle Island. Hear from our featured speakers Sean Sherman and Kate Nelson, and join conversations including Our Stories Belong Here, Visual & Literary Sovereignty, Who Publishes Indigenous Stories?, a Virtual Author Spotlight, and a Children’s Reading Circle.
Browse a vibrant marketplace featuring Native-owned vendors, books, art, jewelry, and literary gifts. Throughout the day, create literary posters and bookmarks using Skoden Studios’ hand carved rubber stamps, make cedar and sage bundles, braid sweetgrass, participate in seed gifting, explore the Story Gardens exhibit at the University of Minnesota Arboretum co-created by Mashkiki Studios, and enjoy delicious food from The Frybread Factory and iRoots Café.
Free admission. Open to the public. All are welcome! The Story Lodge: An Indigenous Literary & Book Fair
