The Mid Atlantic Air Museum, located at the Reading Regional Airport (Spaatz Field) was organized to ensure the professional stewardship of a collection that reflects the history of aviation and to enhance the public's appreciation and understanding of that history. The Museum's collection emphasizes the Mid-Atlantic region's unique contribution to flight, but is broad enough to chronicle a genera

l history of aviation, including military aviation. Museum aircraft are regularly seen on the airshow circuit. The Mid-Atlantic Air Museum's World War II Weekend has become the premier event of its kind. The Museum provides speakers, tour guides, and other educational services to the community, works with the Civil Air Patrol and other educational organizations, and participates in a variety of other educational activities. During the spring through fall, rides in the Museum's North American SNJ and Boeing N2S Stearman, are a popular attraction. We cordially invite you to become a Member of the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum. Membership is simplicity itself - one small annual dues fee entitles members to full participation in all of the Museum's activities.

Just added to our already amazing line-up of ride aircraft is 'Ready 4 Duty'.
The R4D is the Navy version of the C-47 Cargo plane. R4Ds were used during World War II for the transport of troops, cargo, and wounded. Ready 4 Duty is the last flying US Navy R4D preserved in its original wartime configuration.

Of the 10 available ride aircraft, which one are you going to take a ride on?

Tank Rides and Tours will be available again at World War II Weekend June 5, 6, 7 2026. These are booked on the day of the event. "The Wheels of Liberation Collection (WoLC), a Pennsylvania, non-profit 501(c)(3) educational foundation located in Gettysburg, is offering onboard guided tank tours of its M4A1(76) "Sherman" Medium Tank and M5A1 "Kangaroo" Armored Personnel Carrier, as well as rides aboard the Sherman and Kangaroo all three days of this year's WWII Weekend. The donation for tank tours is $20.00 per person, per tank. Rides are $250.00 per person on the Sherman and $150.00 per person or $125.00 per person for a group of four on the Kangaroo. Participants must be 12 or older, capable of safely boarding and dismounting the tank without assistance, and complete a liability waiver (those under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete said waiver). Tank tours will be available during the hours posted, and tank rides will be conducted during the event's onsite "parade laps" each day. The loader's, bow gunner/assistant driver's, or gunner's positions are available for Sherman riders; riders aboard the Kangaroo will be in the assistant driver's position or the personnel compartment."
