Tony Bednarsky is a legendary figure in New Jersey high school soccer, serving as the Head Boys’ Varsity Soccer Coach at Gill St. Bernard’s School (GSB) since 1989. Over his illustrious career spanning more than three decades, he has reached the historic milestone of over 600 career victories. Under his leadership, the GSB Knights have evolved into a national powerhouse, consistently ranking among the top programs in the United States. His tenure is marked by a commitment to excellence that has shaped generations of student-athletes.
His sports-related accomplishments are vast, including leading his teams to 23 Skyland Conference titles, 13 Prep B championships, and 9 NJSIAA Non-Public B State titles. A standout year occurred in 2020 when the team finished undefeated, ranked #1 in New Jersey and #4 nationally. Bednarsky’s personal accolades include being named the 2020 United Soccer Coaches East Region Coach of the Year and New Jersey Coach of the Year. In 2008, his contributions to the sport were officially recognized with his induction into the NJSIAA Coaches Hall of Fame.
Soccer is a true family affair for the Bednarskys, as his wife, Donna Bednarsky, is the Head Girls’ Varsity Soccer Coach at GSB and a former All-American at UConn. All four of their children—Peter, Andrew, Kathryn, and Stevo—played soccer at GSB and continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level. His son Andrew followed in his footsteps into the coaching profession, while Stevo was a standout at Lehigh University. The family remains deeply integrated into the GSB community through teaching and coaching roles.

BARRY TROTZ - БАРРІ ТРОТЦ
Barry Trotz is a highly distinguished Canadian professional hockey figure, serving as the General Manager of the Nashville Predators. Born on July 15, 1962, in Dauphin, Manitoba, he initially pursued a playing career as a defenseman in the Western Hockey League with the Regina Pats. He is of Ukrainian-Canadian heritage, growing up in a community in Manitoba with strong Ukrainian roots. He is married to Kim Trotz, and they have four children. Although his professional playing career was brief, he quickly transitioned into coaching, where he would eventually leave an indelible mark on the National Hockey League (NHL).
Trotz is most renowned for his extensive coaching tenure, specifically as the inaugural head coach of the Nashville Predators from 1998 to 2014. He later led the Washington Capitals to their first-ever Stanley Cup championship in 2018 and served as the head coach of the New York Islanders. His accolades include winning the Jack Adams Award twice (2016, 2019) as the NHL's best coach. He currently ranks among the top coaches in NHL history for total career wins.
Throughout his career, Trotz has been affiliated with the University of Manitoba, the Baltimore Skipjacks, the Portland Pirates, the Predators, the Capitals, and the Islanders. A "fun fact" regarding his career is that he was the longest-tenured coach in the NHL at the time of his departure from Nashville. His reputation is built on defensive structural integrity and his ability to maximize the potential of his rosters. After decades behind the bench, he returned to Nashville in 2023 to succeed David Poile as General Manager. He retired in 2026.
