A very special NBCares Wednesday at 6:30p spotlights the amazing artwork created by local students to illustrate the anger, sadness, fear and isolation of bullying. The very powerful exhibit opens Thursday at the Tolerance Education Center in Rancho Mirage thanks to a partnership with Boo2Bullying. The wonderful local nonprofit serves our community with their anti-bullying curriculum and to date has reached over 19,000 students in the Coachella Valley. The impressive exhibit continues through the end of June. Don’t miss it.

Today would have been my grandmother’s 92nd birthday. She was an incredibly selfless women who was an inspiration to many. She dedicated her later years working with the Tolerance Education Center sharing with school children her experience in Auschwitz and the horrors of N**i Germany. Her dedication to educating younger generations has helped assure that the phrase “Never Again” becomes reality. We love you and miss you Grandma Fonda! Learn more about Frances Nassau’s story here:

This amazing man, Mike Resmo, has spoken to 1,400 of my students over the last seven years. I can teach my students facts about the Holocaust that fill their brains, but it is Mike who opens their eyes and their hearts, as he relates his experiences as a Holocaust survivor. I am forever grateful to Mike for sharing his life with my students and to the Tolerance Education Center for hosting us.
