MPAC (Metaphilliax Psychosocial Art Collective) is an artist-run, community-driven arts organization that aims to make art supplies and education accessible to all, no matter their backgrounds or financial situations. We believe the art world needs a more supportive culture that encourages talented creatives and dismantles the concept of the 'starving artist.' While it's true that concept may have
a certain romantic appeal to some, it also creates an environment where many gifted artists feel unsupported and are unable to pursue their craft in a meaningful way. We are determined to provide free resources and support to those who may not have access or the means to pursue their passion. We plan to achieve this through programs such as a by-mail and in-person free art supply program, artist-led donation-based art workshops, and a community workspace and gallery that will serve as our home base. To achieve our goals, our main source of funding comes/will come from the sale of donated original art, fine art posters/prints of donated art, and commissioned work by local artists requested through us as a third party. We will keep a percentage of art sales (decided by each individual artist) at a minimum of 10% as a required donation. Contributions will also go towards funding shipping fulfillment, web hosting, legal registration, and other startup costs needed to seed the web store and artist outreach that will provide our main source of funding. Please donate to MPAC today, so we can achieve our dream of providing resources and support for everyone who has a passion for art.
