Spectrum School of the Arts and Gallery invites artists to submit pieces for their "Something's Fishy" show. Photographers, sculptors, fine artists, ALL artists, are welcome. Artwork should have something to do with fish. Pieces may be dropped off on June 27, 28, or July 5. Details regarding artwork preparation and more are on their website.

A beautiful weekend for the arts is on the way:
First Presbyterian Church of Racine's "Music and More" kicks it off at noon on Thursday, June 18. Enjoy Jillian Bruss, Jim Sodke, and Mark Paffrath and Liz Steffensen. FREE.
Waterford River Rhythms is back on Thursday evening, June 18, with "Kashmir." Starting at 6:30, this Led Zeppelin tribute band will entertain all for FREE.
Enjoy Mount Pleasant brings bluegrass to Campus Park on Saturday with "Pickin in the Park." Starting at 5:30 on June 20, experience three great bands - FREE.
Artists Gallery in Racine features Kelly Witte's bold prints in "Let the Good Times Grow," Wednesdays through Saturdays during June (closed Friday, June 19.) FREE to visit; purchases welcome!
Spectrum School of the Arts and Gallery has a limited exhibit of Artists Favorites, Saturday and Sunday, June 20 and 21. FREE.
RAM's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts has three complementary exhibits full, including "Stitched Stories: Narrative Quilts and Textiles." Wednesdays - Saturdays. FREE.
OS Projects continues "Flying Kites in a Windless World," highlighted by an artist talk at 1:00 on Saturday, June 20. FREE.
Vintage and Modern Books hosts a FREE Poetry Reading on Saturday afternoon, June 20, featuring four local poets reading their own work.

Over Our Head Players is holding auditions for "Firebringer," A Starkid Production, on Saturday, June 27, from 10 - 2, at Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth Street, Racine.

Performances are September 25 - October 18.

Those auditioning should sign up for a time slot by emailing director Anne Mollerskov at [email protected].

They are seeking 11 singing and dancing actor of any ethnicity; auditioners must be 18 years old or older.

Enjoy a great Led Zeppelin tribute band on Thursday, June 18, when Waterford River Rhythms brings Kashmir to the stage.

Kashmir seeks to re-create the experience of a 70's Zeppelin show utilizing authentic vintage stage gear, costumes and special effects.

There's no better way to kick off a summer weekend.

Get set to Enjoy Mount Pleasant this Saturday, June 20, with Pickin' in the Park! Music starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m. (or later) at Campus Park.

The show will feature performances by Hand-Picked Bluegrass Band, KR Bluegrass, and Bluegrass Express. This FREE festival is open to the public. Several food trucks will serve up barbeque and other summer treats, and Racine Founder’s Rotary Club will offer beer or wine.

Bring lawn chairs or blankets to watch the show from Campus Park’s Great Lawn
No glass containers, carry-in alcohol, or pets, please.

Tomorrow night, Enjoy Mount Pleasant kicks off the "Sounds at Sunset" concert series at Campus Park. Music starts at 6:30 on June 16 with Jay Matthes. Mexico Lindo, Buckets Pub 2nd Round, and Grandma's Cookie Cottage will be there with treats for sale. Bring your lawn chairs and make a night of it.

Friday is Kids Day! RAM's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts hosts a full day of free activities on Friday, June 12, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

At Free Kids Day, uncover 250 points of art through making, exploring, and discovering! Enjoy exploring the exhibition, hands-on projects, scavenger hunts, and games inside and outside the museum, all inspired by the Handcrafted community show and 250 years of creativity.

This is not a drop off event; adults should attend with the youngsters - at least one adult for every four children. And dress for mess.

Tomorrow, it's a big day at RAM's Wustum Museum of Fine Arts! THREE new exhibits are opening. Drop in to check these out:

"Handcrafted: RAM Community Art Show"
"RAM Showcase: Cynthia Toops"

They are all open to the public from June 10 through November 21, and admission to Wustum is always FREE.
