Owners downsize Olympic Art Gallery in Quilcene Come December q0th for up to 50% off

After more than six years of running the Olympic Art Gallery in Quilcene, owners Charlie and Sally Brown have decided to downsize and take the gallery in another direction.

The largest nature and wildlife gallery on the peninsula was a nonprofit the Browns opened to benefit the town and give local artists exposure. Sally volunteered her time, forgoing personal income, to run the gallery and three art festivals a year. The Browns also volunteered with various organizations in the community in their spare time.

The last Olympic Art Festival is on Saturday, Dec. 10. Many of the gallery’s artists will attend and offer reduced prices for their work. Visit
olympicartgallery.com for more information.

The Browns plan to focus on their other business, Brown Custom Iron (browncustomiron.com), which provides custom gates, railings and home décor, beginning Jan. 1. The Browns will display their wares by appointment only in one part of the same building, located at 40 Washington St. off U.S. Highway 101. They plan to be joined by other local artists.

“We would like to thank all the people who have supported us and the gallery over the past six years,” wrote the Browns in an email announcement. “We have met so many nice people from outside the area and are very grateful for the friends we have made.”

Call 531-2015 for information regarding leasing the other half of the gallery space or an adjacent storage area.

Mitch Luckett
Whether Ozark Mountain tall tales, narrative songs, Olympic Mountain parables, Native American myths or a book-length yarn, Mitch has a gift for the ancient art of storytelling
Try to imagine if Garrison Keillor's early influences were Ozarks and Pentecostal instead of Minnesota and Lutheran. That's what you'll find on Tall Tales & Blue Grass, the debut CD from Mitch Luckett, author of To Kill a Common Loon. In song and story Mitch answers such questions as "what could wipe the smile off a dead man's face?", "is it possible to find true love on the road to Wieser?" and "what is Mitch's signature doing on his very own birth certificate?"
