Renee Gibbons, Artist & Owner, Zen Art Den Gallery & Gifts, located in the Bal Harbor Plaza, 1133 Bal Harbor Blvd Unit 1151 Punta Gorda Florida
Originally from New Jersey, I relocated to Southwest Florida in 2004 and fell in love with the quaint town of Punta Gorda. This area has a great vibe and I really enjoy being part of the artist culture here. For a couple of years, I owned and operated a Jewelry and Bead store in Towles Plaza in Punta Gorda which I really enjoyed. I also spent some time as a full-time street artist in Key West as well as showing at Guild Hall Gallery on Duval Street. In December of 2021, I opened Zen Art Den Gallery & Gifts in Punta Gorda Isles, where I sell my fused glass, pottery, jewelry, alcohol ink, resin and painted artwork. Expressing myself through my designs has evolved over many years and throughout different stages of my life. It has always been an integral part of who I am. I feel connected to others through a shared love of art. The mediums I work in are Fused Glass, Painting, Alcohol Inks, Drawing, Metalsmithing/Jewelry, Resin Art and Pottery. Each item I create is a One-Of-A-Kind design. Fluid/pour art is the latest medium I have been working in. It is a very liberating Abstract style of painting. I have found that everyone sees a little something different in each design, so fun! Many of my designs are coastal in nature as the beach has always been a very therapeutic and healing place for me. I often include found items (shells, rocks, fossils, etc.) in my work as I have always had a fondness for nature and the beauty of simplicity. I genuinely love the ever-changing world of art and how we can find beauty in so many different forms which evoke a feeling, a memory or just peace and happiness in the moment we see it.
