"Hey, Watch Your Backcast" 16x20, oil on canvas. Private collection. Years ago I was fishing the Firehole in YNP when I glanced behind me and a cow bison with a calf was right behind me. I could have easily hit her with my backcast. Some how the bison turned into a moose for this painting. Artistic licensešŸ˜‰

Painted plein air near Nabesna, AK in 2013. This small lake was named Twin Lakes back then but is now known as Kendesnii. The background is the Mentasta Range. We spent a wonderful solitary week camping, hiking, fishing, painting and writing here in early September of that year in the shadows of Wrangell-St. Elias.
