🦋 Reclaimed critters by Alex Rino 🐌

This Series began with a simple idea: Instead of allowing the end-cuts of watercolor paper from my larger pieces to grow landfills, I went on a hunt to reclaim bug-sized frames and turned them into something beautiful that honored nature while preserving it.

We had another fabulous show last night with our featured artist Kim Smith and music by Carol Ayoob and Jon Steinberger! Thank you to all who came! I love the community spirit that comes alive during these beautiful evenings.

For anyone who bought artwork. I’ll be at the gallery today at 3:30 pm for a few mins for pickups.

I’m getting so excited for Kim Smith’s show tomorrow, during P.I. First Friday Art Night! The gallery has been transformed into a beautiful showroom!

Gallery Hours will be 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Kim will give an artist’s talk at 6:30 pm and we’re having live music by Carol Ayoob and Friends in the studio space as well!

I love it when a show provides something new to our group of art night guests. Last night did just that! It was so exciting to view Shelby Shea’s INTO THE UNSEEN! Each time the lights went out, the paintings seemed to come alive in the glow of the black lights strategically placed around the gallery. And this was heightened even more by Shelby’s thoughtful and meaningful descriptions of each piece. It’s wonderful to engage with an artist who really takes the time to ask “what does the painting/artwork that I’ve created mean to me? What does it reflect about who I am?” and this always seems to invite others to do the same, making the experience that much more compelling.

Thank you so much Shelby for this unique and thought-provoking show. Thank uou to Janice and Doug for proving beautiful live music as an accompaniment to Shelby’s show. And thank you to all who came!!
