Congratulations to the Prattsburgh SummerFest Committee for a great event! There were people in the park all day and I especially like seeing teenagers walking around enjoying themselves.

To celebrate America’s 250 the Anniversary
Mark Rust presents the Americana Program – A diverse mix of American roots music, blending folk & country, that takes the audience on a journey across the country, creating a portrait of our diverse land, and the people who live in it. Songs include: “Country Roads”, “Home on the Range”, “Oh Susanna”, “This Land is Your Land”, and “What a Wonderful World”.

Parade starts at 2:00pm

3:00-5:00 we have the famous Spare Parts Band

6:00-9:00 we welcome Poke. The Bear. A 3 piece rock band from the Hornell area in upstate NY, covering an eclectic range of rock music.

Meat Raffle!

The annual Meat Raffle to benefit the Narcissa Prentiss House has begun! We are only selling 400 tickets at $5 each and the prizes are gift cards from the Prattsburgh Marketplace in the amounts of $350, $100 and $50. The winning tickets will be pulled at the Prattsburgh Summerfest on Saturday, August 22. Tickets are available from the Committee members listed below, as well as from Sandy Squires and Joy Elward, both of whom have graciously agreed to help us sell our tickets. Posters with Venmo information can be found on the posters at the MarketPlace, Prattsburgh Library, and outside the Barrel Horse on Main.

The Narcissa Prentiss House will be open today from 11 -3. Why not stop by on your way to the Historical Society’s 250th celebration picnic at their Historical House! Picnic is from 1-3.

Our annual meat raffle begins next week, and tickets will be available from members of the committee - Joan Georgia, Andrea Elward, Carolyn Anderson, Sharon Peck and Sandy Conley - as well as from Sandy Squires and Joy Elward. Sandy Conley will be at the picnic selling early tickets today. Look for her - she’ll have meat raffle posters hanging on her like a sandwich board.

The Prattsburgh Central School 4th grade class visited the Narcissa Prentiss House on 5/21. Separated into two groups, on the first floor they learned about Narcissa and other historical facts. On the second floor, they viewed various exhibits and participated in a scavenger hunt.

On Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22, the junior class at Prattsburgh Central School came to the Narcissa Prentiss House and worked on the driveway, the lawn and the ditches as well as cleaning inside the House. Words cannot say how grateful the Committee is for this assistance! Well done!
