Thank you to Mark Manske of Adirondack Raptors for visiting the museum with his owls, Wednesday and Pugsley! Visitors learned all about owl biology and behavior and even got to pet Pugsley’s super-soft feathers! What a hoot! 🪶🦉

Dolly Parton gave millions of kids a book of their own. Her Imagination Library has sent free books to children worldwide every month for decades, heavily benefiting rural and underserved areas across the globe, opening up new worlds and sparking imaginative thinking that stays with a child for a lifetime. Her outsized generosity towards children in rural communities has been an inspiration to NCCM. Thank you, Dolly.

Last weekend’s Family STEM Workshop was Build-a-Battery. Using a few simple components, kids made their own working battery and tested it out on real electronics. 🔋

Members also get to enjoy our lineup of live animal programs this week: K-9 Lex on Wednesday at 11am, Wild4Wildlife on Thursday at 11am, and Adirondack Raptors on Friday at 11am. Meet owls, hawks, and falcons up close, with a chance to hold an owl. 🦉
