Art is an enduring quality of life that brings beauty to our existence on earth. We each can express life, through painting on canvas, sculpting with clay, or writing, singing, or even sports!
A gallery is one way of exhibiting art pieces to our world! It was a joy to operate a gallery to present the God-given talents of a number of men and women living in our community. We were blessed to be given that opportunity at The Art Gallery of Potomac!
It is my hope that people anywhere will exercise their inborn talents and gifts for the pleasure of others and themselves. In the Book of Ephesians it is taught, basically, that if you work with your hands, making something beautiful, you’ll stay out of trouble! Whether hands, feet, voice or prayer, we are not better occupied than with these expressions!

I HAVE FOUND SOMEONE TO LOVE ME FOREVER! I am a cutie for sure - turned into the shelter through no fault of my own. I am a jumpy puppy, so I can and will knock you down. I am in need of training and I want to be your one and only. I am super goofy, funny and I have NO IDEA that I am a big girl! Please ONLY apply if you have experience with big dogs - I am a big girl and I have special needs!

‘Men in Kilts’, a road trip show starring Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish, is set to premier on Valentine’s Day. These two Scotsmen will be traveling around Scotland and offering their insight on everything from to . Sounds like a braw adventure! 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The art gallery of Potomac is proud to present two well-known local artists in different Medias: Nancy Frankel and Evelyn Jacob, both recently had shown at Black Rock Center for the Arts in Germantown, joining our resident artists Felisa Federman.

Nancy Frankel uses “organic geometry” to give form to her love of nature and architecture. space, either encapsulated or activated, and a sense of balance, precarious yet centered, are integral to her work. She shown widely in the area and beyond and has had commissions in New Hampshire, Michigan and Ohio as well as locally in public and private collections, including the National Academy of Sciences, Washington, DC.

Evelyn Jacob explores the details of the nature world in her photographs, revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Her images reflect her emotional responses to light, tonality, pattern, line, and color in her subjects. Her photographs have been shown in more than fifteen juried exhibitions in such venues as Glenview Mansion and Sandy Spring Museum.

Felisa Federman moves between painting, mixed media and assemblages resulting in the display of conventional objects in an unpredictable representation inviting the viewer to decipher the compositions like puzzles. She has been shown in a lot of exhibitions and museums inside and outside the USA.

David Therriault creates sculpture from stone. David’s artistic training and inspiration come from a lifetime of incorporating stone in natural settings as a landscape designer and as a shopkeeper at his countryside garden center in Beallsville, MD. His work reflects his intimacy with stone in nature and reveals its “beauty and soul.” Stones speak to the artist and they are reborn as garden sculpture, birdbaths, fountains, and home accents.

David’s sculpture is featured at Alden Farms, a countryside garden shop in the agricultural reserve of upper Montgomery County (www.aldenfarms.net). The sculpture garden at Alden Farms provides the perfect setting for David’s original works in stone.

Unusual annuals, perennials, herbs, native plants, garden statuary, garden accents, and gifts.
