Southern Ohio Museum Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center is currently closed to the public due to construction and expansion. https://linktr.ee/southernohiomuseum

During our closure, we continue to offer concerts, lectures, and educational programming to the public. The Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center opened its galleries and programs to the public in 1979. Housed in the handsome Beaux Arts style building that once held the community's largest bank in the heart of Portsmouth's downtown, SOMaCC boasts five galleries and four permanent collections of

important cultural heritage, as well as an auditorium, learning center, and a nearby studio for training in performing arts.

A "Traveler's Guide to Ancient Ohio" lecture and book launch led our crowd last week through some of Ohio's most important historic sites. We are grateful to John E. Hancock for presenting and to the Shawnee State University bookstore for bringing copies of the books for purchase. If you missed the event and would like to snag a copy of "The Traveler's Guide to Ancient Ohio", the Shawnee State Bookstore is carrying copies through the month of June.
