Our next deep-dive into a few of the minds of our contributing Hello, Dolly! artists is a bit on the darker side of things.
Matt Burlingame wields saws, drills, knives, and a lathe to make unwholesome creations, mostly out of wood.
Melissa Kojima is a quirky, vintage-loving gal with quick wit and morbid humor. She combines the funny and melancholic into her gothic, whimsical artwork to celebrate the weird and the strange.
June Piety explores themes of nature, the animal kingdom, dreams, folklore, magical realism, and the strange and haunted (literally and metaphorically).
It's almost spooky season, kids... and these doll-makers will get you in the mood a bit early with their wickedly wonderful offerings.
Don't miss this show! It's truly gonna be one for the books.

👉Renée Tay is a vintage toy assemblage sculptor. She creates sculptures from toys and collectibles, with the end result having the illusion of porcelain.
👉Erika Rier is a self-taught interdisciplinary artist creating paintings, ceramics, and art zines in a style she calls folk surrealism
👉Mavis Leahy is a self-taught fiber/mixed media artist whose creations are a reflection of the many rich cultures of her native Los Angeles. Mavis creates mixed media, textile collage, and assemblage from vintage materials and found objects.

Amelia Opie is a seasoned painter of quirky, surrealist animals, and now continues to dive into her ceramic work with similar themes. She comes from a prolific family of artists and loves to introduce the world to her fancy, freaky, and fun little creatures, like the Garfield the Hut, pictured here.
Gia Whitlock is bringing delightful desserts in miniature! Feast your eyes on these delicate delicacies and collect them all for your home dolly tea-parties.
Penny Katz has hybridized some plushies and dollies with a variety of new creatures in their custom frocks and delightful poses. Penny is bringing a beautifully detailed assortment of unique playthings that must be seen to be believed.

In our first deep-dive artist spotlight today, we show off our first three artists exhibiting in the upcoming Hello, Dolly! show this First Friday.
Anna Magruder is primarily a painter, but for this show she has explored clay and assemblage art while keeping true to her favorite subjects: people, animals, and whatever lies between. Pictured is the sweet "House Mouse" with amazing little details you have to see up close to believe.
Cherie Savoie Tintary is known for her kitschy collage art and has been exhibiting for over twenty years. She was an analog photographer in the past but switched mediums to analog collage in 2020. Rich with social commentary, her work speaks volumes and has a nostalgic appeal.
Tamara Goldsmith enjoys mixing disciplines for the work specifically designed for this show, combining jewelry, ceramics, and stained glass. Blending 3D forms like antique porcelain statuary with glass using both stained glass and metalworking techniques, she has created odd little reliquary works that can hang in the window or on a wall and are sometimes wearable.
Tomorrow we will feature three more artists!!
