The Fine Arts Cinema, as it looked in 1988, 627 Congress Street. From the 1970s into the 80s they showed Hollywood movies, before shifting to p**n, but in for the last few years of it's existence, they hosted punk shows in one of the two theaters, sometimes with non-p**no indie movies in the other side. At some point half the building was torn down. In 1999 the space became The Skinny, retaining the slanted movie theater floor, complete with bolts sticking out where the old seats were. The Skinny lasted until 2003. In 2005 moved into this space from it's old location at 13 Brown St. Photo from the collection of

Probably 1999 flier for a interesting show at Zootz. Fury 440 turned into Swamp Witch Revival around 1999/2000 and I believe Zootz closed in the end of 1999. Would love more info on Marvels and Dirtnap and/or a date where Swamp Witch turned into Redeemer. Photo reposted from Zootz FB group, if anyone has a better photo or scan plz let me know.

1984 flier for a show with DRI and early Maine HC band Zero Mentality. The third band, Crow, were from Portland and included Joel Platz, Jake Halpert, Danny Weiner(?) and Wally. Digging into some old notes, someone told me they lived in a squat on Cumberland Ave called The Crow's Nest... I want to know more! Thanks to for band member info for Crow. From the collection of Chris Minicucci.
