In 2021, I presented ONE BUT TWO (Haadzii) with Roberts Projects an exhibition exploring the existence of twins, two individuals believed to share a profound spiritual bond from birth. As a son of a twin, this subject holds a deeply personal meaning for me.

In Ghana, twins hold deep cultural significance in several communities, including among the Ga and Akan, where twinhood is connected to spiritual beliefs, traditional rituals, and communal identity.

Through this photograph, I reflect on how these cultural ideologies shape our understanding of identity, belonging, and the relationship between the individual and the collective. The photograph celebrates the unique bond between twins while inviting us to question how culture and heritage influence the meanings we attach to who we are.
